BAppSc (Phty), APAM

Amy graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Sciences (Physiotherapy) degree. Since then, she has been fine tuning her skills in private practices and hospitals for the past 12 years, treating a wide range of patients from acute sports injuries to musculoskeletal conditions and post-surgical rehabilitation.

Amy has a particular interest in the treatment of shoulder injuries and has undertaken further training in this area – completing courses with specialist shoulder physiotherapists in Melbourne and Sydney, gaining insight into complex shoulder surgeries in operating theatres, as well as learning from sports physicians in their management of shoulder injuries. She is a self-professed “shoulder geek” and enjoys reading the latest research papers on all things shoulder and applying the best evidence based approach to her practise.

Amy is passionate about exercise, health and fitness, and this enthusiasm has driven her to attain the pilates certification series with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI), becoming a fully certified pilates instructor in 2016. This has lead Amy to develop a strong foundation in biomechanical assessment and postural analysis, allowing her to prescribe optimal rehab programs for each of her patients.

Outside of work, Amy loves a good chat over a glass of wine, long distance running, mountain climbing adventures, travelling the world, and ticking things off her bucket list – her latest challenge: hiking to Mount Everest base camp.
